Crew Agreement Positions: All crewmembers should conduct themselves in a responsible and respectful manner, and participate in the learning experience with enthusiasm. The Bluewater Miles instructor has the final say in all matters of crew and boat safety. Weather: Pushing a departure forward or back a day is sometimes a great way to maximize a weather window. Crewmembers should do their best to work with the captain to take best advantage of weather windows, and should be mentally prepared to encounter rough weather. Cancellations: If a crewmember cancels due to a medical emergency or a death in the family, Bluewater Miles will refund payments or apply them to a future passage if requested. If Bluewater Miles is forced to cancel a passage, it will refund all crewmember payments. Crewmembers are encouraged to look into travel insurance. Ticket flexibility comes in handy for ocean passages. Sometimes, standby flights can be surprisingly affordable when considering possible ticket adjustments at the end of a passage. Often, crewmembers book accommodations at the landfall destination to enjoy themselves.
